Summer never feels complete until we’ve crossed a family camping trip off our list. It’s one of my favorite traditions, especially living here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Camping is the perfect way to explore our state. It breaks up the everyday routine. It lets the kids roam free. It allows us to spend quality time together as a family. We’ve taken our son several times and recently introduced our daughter to the adventure. After trial and error, I’ve put together a tried-and-true list of essentials that make the experience smoother.

Toddler sleeping bag
This toddler sleeping bag is a must-have for your little adventurer. It kept my son cozy through several camping trips. And bonus- I got to reuse with my younger daughter.
Kids’ sleeping bag
This sleeping bag kept my son warm through the entire night, and he absolutely loves the color. It’s the perfect fit for 4-year-olds.
Camp chairs
It’s easy to go all out on camp chairs, but we’re perfectly content with our Coleman brand chairs. We’ve had them for years, and has been through dozens of camping trips.
Camp fork
We usually gather sticks around the campground for s’mores. However, sometimes convenience wins. We end up using our camp fork. It’s easy to clean and doubles perfectly for hotdogs too.

Tablecloth
This is one of our favorite camping extras. It’s easy to clean and fold, and it adds a cozy touch to our site.

Lantern
My toddler is obsessed with this flashlight/lantern. It’s perfect for camping and keeps him happily entertained before bedtime. The multiple modes and lightweight design adds to his excitement every time we go camping.
Camp stove
This camp stove was one of our favorite wedding registry gifts. We’ve used it on every camping trip since. It’s perfect for heating water, making pancakes, and most importantly, making ramen.
